Ranking Structure and Requirements
White Belt - All students are white belts upon formally joining the dojo.
The student should endeavor to become fully engrossed in all that the dojo
is.
Yellow Belt

c. Sanju waza
d. Seisan kata
e. Bunkai
Orange Belt
a. Japanese for 1-10
b. Japanese for basics
c. Seiuchin kata
d. Bunkai
Green Belt
a. Vocabulary
b. First-aid
c. Full history
d. Naihanchi kata
e. Bunkai
Brown Belt
a. Chart three
b. Wansu kata
c. Bunkai
d. Chinto kata
e. Bunkai
f. Sanchin kata
Shodan Ho
a. Full knowledge of Isshinryu history
b. Must have developed a strong training attitude
c. Must demonstrate proper maturity over time
d. One personal kata and bunkai. Inform your sensei when it is prepared; he/she
will observe and make suggestions for improvements
Black Belt
a. All kata, techniques, skills, and knowledge will be re-tested. You must
demonstrate a well-rounded ability for self-defense with strong technique
and strong fighting spirit.
